Three 6 Mafia is selected for induction into Smithsonian’s new Memphis Music Hall of Fame
The city of Memphis has a long and rich musical history, from Elvis Presley to Isaac Hayes, and the city is celebrating its legacy with the Smithsonian’s new Memphis Music Hall of Fame. And controversial Academy Award-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia are among the first class of inductees into the new Hall. 25 artists will be enshrined in the hall initially, including Otis Redding, Elvis Presley, Al Green, The Staple Singers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Isaac Hayes and Three 6 Mafia. The acts were selected by a voting body of historians, authors and industry executives. The ceremony is scheduled for November 29th,7:00PM at the Cannon Center for Performing Arts in Memphis.
