Lil Wayne pulls in 42 Million on his Concert Tour

There’s no need for Lil Wayne to validate himself anymore as to why many believe that he is top in the hip hop game or why he’s top in the rap industry, the rapper has gained the spot of the highest grossing touring rapper by pulling in over $42 million for his most recent tour.

The rapper swept artists Jay-Z and Kanye West under the rug after doing seventy-eight shows from December 2008 through September 2009 which promoted his chart topping 2008 album “Tha Carter III” which was certified 3x Platinum in the U.S. with sales of over 3 million copies and which is Lil Wayne’s highest selling album to date , but all of the money for the Carter III goes to the Rolling Stones for Wayne using one of there samples on the album without permission .

As for Jay-Z, the rapper wasn’t too far behind by coming into second place with $34.6 million from a twenty-eight concert tour with the Queen of Hip Hop Mary J. Blige in 2008.

Kanye West came in at third place with his “Glow In the Dark” tour which pulled in $30.8 million for forty-nine concerts.
We at Hiphopspy had free tickets to the Lil Wayne show when it came to town but we gave them away to a couple of Lil Wayne Groupies who said when they saw Lil Waynes concert Keyshia Cole stole the show and out-shined Lil Wayne at his own Concert.

Lil Wayne sued over Sleepiness

. Lil Wayne is being sued for nearly half-a-million bucks for sleeping when he should have been performing.

Red City Entertainment claims it fronted $432,000 for a Wayne concert appearance in the Bahamas. On September 27, 2008, there were plenty of lights and cameras… but no action, because Wayne was passed out in his hotel room. When he didn’t show for the performance, cops went to his hotel and found him unconscious.

In the lawsuit filed today, Red City claims it gave Wayne a $210,000 advance. The balance is for his hotel expenses and various costs involved in throwing the failed concert.

Calls to Lil Wayne’s rep were not returned.

Bad luck for AEG Live – European promoter for MJ & Lil Wayne

AEG Annouced today:

Multi-platinum selling, Grammy Award winning artist Lil Wayne regrets to announce the postponement of his forthcoming European shows due to illness.

Wayne, his band and crew arrived in Europe with full intention of performing but were forced to cancel the dates due to doctor-mandated rest.

Management is actively working on rescheduling the shows and expects to have a new set of dates confirmed for later in year.

Lil’ Wayne extends an apology to his fans for the short notice of this postponement but looks forward to returning for the performances and visitation with his fans. Fans should hold onto their tickets and wait for news of rescheduled dates.

Lil Waynes attempt to block Documentary Fails

California Superior Court Judge Michael Mink denied Lil Wayne’s request to prevent the release of “private and sensitive” material in an upcoming documentary about the rapper.

The documentary, entitled The Carter, was the subject of deliberations on Friday June 12. The film will be released by Digerati.

Attorneys had previously called the documentary a “scandalous portrayal” of their client, and named QD3 Entertainment, Quincy Jones III and Digerati as defendants.

“Lil Wayne’s reputation and the value of his identity can be diminished by an unauthorized use of his image and persona, or by association with a movie or purported ‘authorized’ documentary that, in reality, does not meet with his approval and depicts him in a negative light and/or engaged in criminal conduct,” alleged the lawsuit.

In addition, Mink awarded sanctions against Wayne and his attorneys in the amount of $5,000, which must be paid within a 30-day period.

Finally, Wayne must appear for deposition at Digerati’s attorney’s offices by July 31, during which time he will explain what exactly he finds harmful in the documentary pertaining to his current criminal cases.

Rumor on the streets and in the industry is Lil Wayne will be exposed in the documentary as kissing multiple men and outed by the gay community, after this documentary there will be no doubt in anyones mind Lil Wayne is part of the rainbow nation.

Birdman admits he would Kiss Lil Wayne again

Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman/Baby” Williams took the “better late than never” approach to addressing the infamous photo of his mouth-to-mouth kiss with his label’s breakout superstar Lil Wayne.

In a recent interview with radio Londons DJ Tim Westwood, Birdman gave his thoughts on the love shown between unofficial father and son. Perhaps to his credit-and a move that will make many yell “pause”-Birdman did not back down when the topic popped up.

“That’s my son,” Birdman explained to Westwood and the listening audience. “If Lil Wayne was right here, I’d kiss him again. I kiss my daughter, my other son.” uh who kisses there son in the mouth? Who? Pedophiles and homos take your pick

Ultimately, Birdman says the situation, which began when a photo of him kissing Lil Wayne surfaced on the Internet was blown out of proportion.

“I think people just took that too far,” he added.
