Bet Hip Hop Awards Nominations Announced

Kanye West Leads BET Hip-Hop Awards Nominees West gets nine nods; Jay-Z and Lil Wayne have seven each.

Kanye West may be in hot water with just about the entire world after interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMAs, but that didn’t stop him from notching the most nominations for the 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Despite his checkered awards-show history, Kanye leads the pack with nine nominations for the show, which will be taped in Atlanta on October 10 and air on October 27. West picked up noms for Best Hip-Hop Collabo, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Producer of the Year, CD of the Year, MVP of the Year, Hustler of the Year, the Made-You-Look award (for style) and People’s Champ.

Right behind him with seven nods each were Lil Wayne and Jay-Z, who were nominated in a number of the same categories as well as Track of the Year, which included Wayne and Young Money’s “Every Girl” and Jay’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune).”

T.I., currently serving a one-year prison stint on gun charges, was just behind them with six nominations, including three for his collaboration with Rihanna on “Live Your Life.” The show, hosted by comedian Mike Epps, will also recognize N.W.A. veteran Ice Cube with its I Am Hip-Hop icon award.

Newcomer Drake also pulled down a trio of bids, including Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year and Rookie of the Year, where he’ll face off against VMA house-band leader Wale, as well as B.O.B., Dorrough and Kid Cudi.

The DJ of the Year competition includes a posthumous nomination for DJ AM, who passed away last month of a suspected drug overdose.
We at HipHopSpy are pretty much sick of awards shows, after the VMAs bullshit and all the Fake Fraud Rigged Low Budget awards shows that go on every Year just to make the promoters money , we try to keep it 100 with all our Loyal readers when reporting on these waste of a time shows. Just Look at the Nominees for Lyricist of the year award at the BETs is that not a joke or what ? The Only Highlight of this Show will be seeing Ice Cube get his Honors .But we still have to report the news and we just want you to know we hate awards shows they are all rigged and who really cares anyway ?

I Saw Soulja Boy on BET Awards and He Sucked so bad I had to turn the Channel

I never watch awards shows because they are all rigged and so commercial. But I thought I would watch what BET had planned to honor Michael Jackson and I couldnt make it past the Soulja Boy set, before I turned the channel. Soulja Boy was so wack its upsetting to me to see what commercial hip hop fans have embraced. I saw Soulja Boy go in the audience and give Kanye West some Dap and I saw nobody behind him hardly out of there seats. I dont even know why I wrote this post but to say Hip Hop that is in the mainstream is completely fucked up. You Got Jamie Foxx giving props to Drake a dude who doesnt have nothing out but a few tracks and now he is the chosen one? Nah he aint put in any work , he isnt on 1000 mixtapes , he got the streets on fire I dont think so? Hip Hop is getting worse everyday, its no wonder all the record labels are folding up and nobody buys CDs anymore. You have multiple trash blogs which I wont mention contantly riding these commercial dudes nutsacks ,while at the same time turning there backs on the Indie artists out there grinding super Hard. Thats all I got to say on the Subject, if you dont like what I said you can eat a dick straight up with bumps on ya lips.
