Petey Pablo sentenced to 3 years in prison

Petey Pablo was sentenced to 35 months in federal prison today after pleading guilty to possessing a stolen firearm. The North Carolina rapper, who is widely known for his hit songs “Raise Up” and “Freek-a-Leek,” was arrested last year while passing through security at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. In 2010, Pablo attempted to clear security for a flight from Raleigh-Durham to Los Angeles with a loaded gun in his bag. While it is unclear about how Petey Pablo received the gun, authorities have determined that the gun was stolen during a home burglary in Gardena, California in 2005. Petey Pablo’s last album came out in 2004, and recently he released a single this month entitled Bigger than that.
