LMAO High unemployment rate means increased DJ school enrollment
You think I’m kidding – here’s the story:

If you’re like so many people out of a job, you’re likely wondering how to make the best of a bad situation. Some of the newly unemployed are turning their free time into a learning experience.
To the casual observer, she’s simply a spinning record. But for April Whiteit, it’s her ‘plan b’ in motion.
“I’m sort of embracing the layoff as an opportunity to pursue something maybe I would have had the courage to pursue, but maybe not,” Whiteit said.
Since losing her public relations job a few weeks ago, she hasn’t skipped a beat.
“This is my time to give it a shot and the economy is down. If it doesn’t work out a year from now I could always go back to PR, and then at least I got it out my system,” Whiteit said.
In the past year, enrollment at DubSpot NYC DJ Academy has doubled.
Breaking it down on the turntables may not seem like work, but Whiteit is getting paid for her skills at local clubs.
While pinpointing a job in the midst of the economic downturn may seem like finding a needle in a haystack, this needle sort of found her one upbeat side of the recession.
The news video has some seriously hilarious quotables, like the dorky white instructor dude saying to the pretty black woman, “Your DJ name is LD Smooth? I’d buy your mixtape.” LMAO
