Drake disses Tupac in his song Fear and now Falls back
When Drake mentioned Tupac in his song, “Fear,” many thought the Young Money emcee was dissing the late West Coast legend – a claim Drake vehemently denies.
“I never cried when ‘Pac died/But I probably will when Hov does/And if my tears hold value, then I would drop one for every single thing he showed us/ And I’ll be standing in a puddle” are the rhymes in question, which raised much speculation on the young rapper’s intent.
Drake explained the lines to MTV News, saying, “A lot of people also sort of don’t understand the meaning of that line,. It’s not necessarily that I don’t love West Coast Hip Hop or that I don’t love ‘Pac now that I’m 22, but that line was just said to show how new I am to Hip Hop. And like I said, I was 9 when that happened, so it didn’t really affect me. But that song in general was just one of those things that took awhile to finish because it was an opportunity to say a lot of the things on my mind. That always feels good as a rapper, when you can get your thoughts out.”

I don’t know much about tha nigga drake and its not my place 2 judge him because idk his true intent of his lyrical delivery. But I can say is bytch nigga that r fresh n tha industry need 2 watch their mouths about people who have more longevity than them, espicially legends such as pac and etc.For instance,if I were fresh in tha industry and went 2 a restaraunt and ice cube was behind me, I’d tell tha host get this man a table first. I was loving the song when I heard it, then that lyric about Pac came up, it ruined everything; especially since Pac is a major inspiration to myself, and an idol even after his death. The problem with Drake saying that line is that he singled out Pac, and didn’t specify why. There were a dozen of rappers that died during that era, and if not, there was still B.I.G. Maybe it was just a mistake, but all in all he should understand that it was a mistake to have used Pac’s name for that even though he was trying to say “I’m new, so certain rappers seem closer than others.”

I don’t know if I am going to believe Drake all the way on his definition of the line he used pertaining to ‘Pac. Lil Wayne dissed Pac before, claiming he was better, lyrically than Pac and he has contributed more to his music and fans than Pac did before his death and even after. I don’t think Drake is really being honest, but I think they need to quit their disrespect to Pac; because technically speaking if it wasn’t for rappers like Pac and Pac himself, there would be no Young Money. There wuold be no Lil Wayne, who a lot of times tries to live the lifestyle Pac did.
People need to better understand Pac’s lyrics before they go putting him down and making him seem like he was nothing. Pac had a history and honestly, Lil wayne and Drake seem jealous because 13 and a half years after his death, people STILL consider Pac one of the best to ever do it, and his family label is spitting out his new albums like he’s still walking this Earth.
