i hate the shows you guys but on here i like the old bet with uncut and rap city and top 25 and stars cars and houses and play music videos all day long and keep the show play by fame come back everything that use to be one the old bet this is glenn from orlando florida and please change it fast please thank you i very upset with the shows you guys that do bet period need to do better it’s very bad if you guys dont change it i’ll stop watching bet all the way i promise

I’m saddened to see rap city go, but after Tigger Left, the show really went down hill. It really got away from showing some of the gritty rap video that really reflected some of the issues that are still going on in Black America.. Like Nas said Hip hop is dead and the Demise of Rap City really reflected that. With it having artist such as Soldier Boy,Bow Wow,Huey, who were basically commercial rappers or one hit wonders, Rap City really reflected what BET has become since the it has changed owners. Like 106 & Park, rap City is just a commercial machine who plugs many rappers and there videos who are fake and only in it for the big dollars but have never had to live a real story. I feel sad that many of the young people look at rap now as nothing but MONEY,CARS,AND HOE’S and by buying into that type of commercialism, these big executives have forced shows like Rap City and 106 & Park to become a former shell of themselves. I remember back in the day when rappers on rap city where rapping about trying to make ends meet and living for today cause you never know what tomorrow brings. That type of music is equivocally gone from BET and hopefully Master P with his new Hip Hop channel can bring that genre of music back to hip hop and use hip hop as a voice to tell Black people’s story, and not to sell Vitamin Water and Cell phones. We need a channel that is for us and only us, White people have MTV,Hispanics have Univision,the old people have CNN. We had BET that ultimately has become a failure since the shows that made BET so appealing like Rap City,106 & Park, midnight love,Comic view have now been replaced by Baldwin Hills, Somebodies, and other BS shows. We need what we had back, we need that back.

Here’s the deal many of you seem to not know or take into account. I’m black and the real truth is Rap City did no more or less for Hip Hop or the artist’s it played. BET is owned by the same people who own MTV. Basically the same money made for two brands made for basically the same consumer. It’s always been an illusion in the “hood” that BET had something so special for us when really it was all just branding and stereotyping at it’s worst. People wake up outside of the music itself(beats, and production wise) the lyrics have served little purpose. This announcement I think will be the start of a much needed black media clean up. We need it. Our children need more. Rap city represents that typical nigga, who aint worrid about nothing but watching another stupid video! We just made history with Mr. President Elect Obama. Now is the best time for the rest of Black America to do something bold new and inclusive to the rebirth of Black America. Hopefully, the trend of musicianship will return. We have an awesome wealth of fine musicians who deserve to be on BET everyday and i think this is what we’ll be seeing in the near future. Hip Hop has served it’s purpose both good and bad it’s time we get back to real music. Like Prince, Erica Badu etc. The days of the glorified hood must come to an end for the black family to be reborn. No Rap City won’t affect anyone but those who think more of it than they do themselve’s.

well to all those that loved the show just because its all we had nuff respect, and to the haters that dissed the show because of the b.s. videos they were playing, well what the fuck we gonna watch now, TRL,those fucking idiots cut off the only avenue we had but i guess that 106 and park shit is better, i think not the host are super fake its almost like watching the fucking mickey mouse club for pop music if you ask me it wasn’t the show it was the host Q45 the biggest poser ever back in the day Joe cleezey kept it real and played both high budget and low budget videos as well and tigger did also in similar fashion but the other morons were caught up in the glitz and glamor and lost track of the soul of hip hop the beat of peoples hearts not pockets

First off, I want to say congrats to Dj Diamond Kuts. She represents Philly to the fullest. She is a talented person who deserves credit. It takes alot of confidence to take on your own show for a hour! Im sure all of Philly will be watching her everyday and having her back 100%! Now as for rap city…it was a great show, but it seemed like everytime that I turned it on, there was a new host. I believe that Dj Diamond Kuts will be a fresh face to the scene and will bring something new that no one has ever seen. So all the haters just sit back and let the queen do her job!
