Hey 50 my name is Taikia and I am a 26 year old single mom of a 4 year old boy. I have been having financial problems for a very long time and every time it starts getting better everything falls apart again but worse than before. I just lost my job of 2 years in the beginning of December and I also lost a second job that I had just started in October that same week. No i’m not a bad worker I just ran into some problems that resulted in me losing my jobs. My son Maliki started having seizures in 2008 and from then on whenever he gets a high fever he has a seizure. When he does get a fever I have to stay home with him to make sure it goes back down so he won’t have a seizure which results in me having to call out from work for the day or however many days it may take him to recover. Also I have a slight disability from being in the military and it dictates whether or not I can work some days because of the pain. These two factors are a part of why I lost one of my jobs due to my poor attendance. I am not trying to make excuses but it is really hard to keep perfect attendance when u have functioning problems and a child that gets really sick at times. I’ve always tried to make it to work but sometimes it was easier said than done and i’m also on the verge of becoming homeless again. I live in a government paid apartment but if I don’t hear from Section 8 or NYC Housing before my lease is up i’m gonna end up back in the shelter and that is gonna be another struggle in itself. Please 50 I need the money to help support my son and I so that if our disabilities get the best of us again at least I know he will be alright because I will have money saved up for him. This money would help alot especially with saving some money for my son’s future education. My name is D’Wan, i am 14 years old and one of three siblings to a single mother. My mother, Regina, is 36 years old and has been struggling financially the last three years trying to pay the bills and support us, and im here to say that she is just simply wonderful. Even when she is down and out she still finds a way to stay positive and provide us with the basic everyday needs. My sister is 17 years old and she can be hard to get along with and ungrateful at times, but for the first time ever she brought home straight A’s and my mom was so proud of her achievement. However she was unable to reward her the way she wanted because we’re on a fixed income. My little brother Keysean can be a handful, he was diagnosed with a social disorder and behavioral problems at the age of 3 and ever since he has been not so much a burden but its been hard keeping him under control even with his medication. Our fathers choose not to be here in our lives but even so, my mom inspires us to always make the right decisions in life and always strive to do our best. My mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to us, even though we may not show it alot of times we do appreciate her. My sister will be heading off to college this coming August, and winning this money in these economical hardships would really help with her college expenses.

I really love what you’re doing. I have a friend that I believe should win the 10k. Her name is Jasmine Mays. The rason I believe that my friend should win the money is because she never asks for anything, nor has she ever won anything before. She is a a young, single mother, that goes to school and has a GPA of 3.5. Her son is only eight(almost nine months) and this will be his first Christmas, and he may be young but he deserves it. I’m not gone even lie Jasmine was going down the wrong path, but after giving birth to her son, her whole life just changed. During her pregnancy she delt with being judged, being put in that category of dropping out of school because of her baby, being a welfare mother, and not making anything out of her life, all because she has a child. But she did the exact opposite. She is finishing her last year of school, and is planning on going to college. Jasmine has very little money, so she’s even doing community service right now to get a scholarship to go to college after she graduates. Jasmine told me she just wants her baby boy to have the best first Christmas…and she wants to give him everything she didn’t have. She would also put some of the money up, for college, so she could go to school and follow her dreams, and make something out of her life not only for her, but also her son. Jasmine is the type of young lady that doesn’t feel the need to depend on a man, and would like to be independent, but she does not have the money to be. I don’t think Jasmine deserves the money, just because I’m her friend, but because she’s been through so much within the past two years, and this would really help out her and her son’s future. And when everybody meets Jasmine’s son, they all immediately fall in love with him. He’s so precious, and as Jasmine says, he’s her precious gift from God. On hearing about this contest on the radio station (105.1). Mr Jackson I felt a sence of relief. During my life, struggle’s were plenty. I’m really not here to discuss the negative effects that it had on my life, rather I’m here to disscuss the accomplishments that I acheived through them. As a single mother I had to quickly learn how to think as a man would, in order for my three sons to survive. In my house hold I taught my sons the (Golden Rule), which was to treat others the same way you want to be treated. This is the very reason why they are highly respected in our community. One of my main goals was to see to it that my three sons had a good education, however I didnt believe that the (Board of Ed) would successfully succeed in doing this, therefore I took them out of the school system and Home School’d them myself. 50 you’ll be happy to know that my two older sons have sucessfully graduated with their diploma, while my youngest is in his final year. So if your looking for a pity story this is not the one. But if your looking for a story about a “single parent” who was in a negative situation and turned it positive I believe this is the one for you………… Please Review Mine.
Hello 50; I just want to start off by saying My friend Felicia Jones is a great mom to her 12 year old son..She does it all for him without any help from the childs father she’s a strong individual who works hard for her son education as well as any other needs he may have. Felicia recently lost her mother and had to take her savings to bury her mom who had no Life insurance so her son may not receive anything..But I must say he is grateful she asked him if she wasn’t able to get him anything for Christmas would he be upset he took a minute but he said No take care of yourself..It brought tears to my eyes..I’m a college student and unemployeed but if I had it his Christmas would be special..I just really would like for you to consider her as a canidate for the single mom contest because she goes far and beyond for her son and hopefully if I ever decide to have a child..I want to be just like her! I`m a thirty-two year old single parent of a sixteen year old son and a ten year old daughter. Ten thousand dollars would help us tremendously. It`s been a battle raising my beautiful children without any family nor childsupport .I`m raising my children to be responsible adults.I`ve been battling with their fathers from the beginning .I`ve had to take them to court on multiple occasion.The first father was denied to pay because of kidney failure,who recently died Aug.2009.The second father was ordered to pay two- hundred seventy- nine dollars. We only receive five of those payments.He behind over thirteen thousand dollars backpay childsupport and recently became incarcerated.I`ve battled losing everything in a fire,being homeless for three months,not able to work for a little while because child illness.Years after lost another home due to flood and feses.Being homeless for thirty days.My car braking down.I`ve had many set backs I need some help.

I’m twenty-three I don’t have any children that are really mine but I do take care of this name Joshua his my boyfriends son, he’s one years old and I’ve been there for him since day one and his birth mother really is not there for him. When he turned one years old she didn’t throw him a birthday party or a gift. I’m not working I’m is college for psychology and taking care of a baby that doesn’t even belong to me, I know well why am I taking care of the child if he isn’t mine cause I know how it feels to be with out a parent and I don’t want him to be with out a mother, so I decided to step up and tale charge. I just think that it’s time for my break. I want to continue to do the things I do for Josh every doctors appointment every sick visit I’ve been there. I don’t have a car job or my on place to stay cause I’m a mother.

First off I want to thank you on behalf of all single mothers who are struggling to make meats end. We’re are all here struggling, looking for opportunity; whether it winning money, getting that job you were waiting for, or just paying off bills. Now I will be straight up, my story is not as bad as the ones that I have read. Like all others I’m a single mother working very hard to provide for my 4 year old son. Unlike many others I do have a great job, a car to get me around and I’m going to school. But also just like the others I’m struggling just as much. As good as my job is it doesn’t pay the bills. I make ‘too much’ to get on any assistance but too little to get by. I’m behind on every bill I have and not because I can afford to splurge my money it’s because I’ll try to catch up with one bill and fall behind on all others. One thing I don’t want to do is quit school but it’s getting harder and harder to focus when I have to try and pick up extra jobs to try and put whatever money I can toward any bill I have. I will keep this short and simple because my story can go on of how much I’m in poverty. My son is too young to realize this now but I don’t want him growing up and watching me struggle or worse end up with the wrong crowd because I can’t afford rent in a decent community. All in all this donation would be such a great and appreciated way to help me or any other single struggling mom get on our feet and change a life. So THANK YOU!

Dear 50 cent,even though im writing you to help me im also writing you to tell you my story..I AM A 35 year old SINGLE MOTHER fulled with dispair and filling like a failure to my SEVEN CHILDREN, I HAVE SIX BOYS AND ONE GIRL.MY OLDEST SON IS 19, MY TWINS BOYS ARE 18, my DAUGHTER 17, and A 15 YEAR OLD FOOTBALL PLAYER THAT HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE, AND another SET OF TWINS THAT ARE 12.I AM A HARD WORKING CNA I WORK 5 DAYS OUT OF THE WEEK, 12HRS A DAY SOMETIMES I EVEN HAVE TO WORK DOUBLES JUST SO I CAN HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR MY CHILDREN TO HAVE food on the table and CLOTHES AND SHOES.I was married during the time MY MOTHER AND FATHER DIED thinking my husband would stick by our side he walked out on us.then i got n a career taking care of the elderly because i wanted to help others with there parents.After that my LIFE BEGAN TO CHANGE mergely.I moved away from my home town because my kids started to turn to gangs.then two of my boys were put in jail.ON JULY OF 2008,one of them got out on a five day pass and him and his OLDER brother had almost lost their lives when 8 boys HAD beaten them so bad that they were air lifted to the hospital AND IN ICU FOR 5 DAYS. when he got out of ICU HE HAD TO GO BACK TO JAIL IN HIS CONDTION.The hospital bills put me in deep dept.I haven’t had a chance to get caught up on my bills.when my boys got hm from jail the boys that jumped my boys shot-up my house so we were put out of our home,living from place to place now my children and I ARE SHARING A ONE BED ROOM APARTMENT WITH MY COUSIN AND HER 3 GRANDCHILDREN.EVEN THOUGH A STORM HIT MY FAMILY SO HARD I STILL GIVE ALL PRAISE AND HONOR TO THE LORD BECAUSE MY CHILDREN AND I ARE STILL HEALTHY AND ALIVE AND STILL HAVE SOME WHERE TO LAY OUR HEADS. every time i feel i have my head above water a tide always comes by and pull me back under.Were right where we were last year at this time.50 cent I WOULD BE SO THANKFUL IF YOU WERE TO CHOSE ME SO THAT I CAN GIVE MY CHILDREN A WOUNDERFUL CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR AND MAYBE EVEN A PLACE TO CALL HOME.

I am a single mother myself of two sons 12 and 4. I recently lost my job at a five star hotel in June. This has definately been the toughest time for us as a family.However I stay positive tht God has a master plan. Just to put food on the table is a major challenge!

Hey 50 how are you? My name is Tracy. I’m a 39 year old mother of two. I have a 13 year old daughter and a 11 year old son. What you are doing for single mothers means more to us that you realize. You are about to change 3 families lives. I was married to an abusive man (boy)that seriously had me thinking I couldn’t do any better. It got so bad at one point that the physical abuse was nothing to me compared to the verbal. During that time period that he and I were togehter he drained me mentally, physically, and most of all he drained my spirit. I finally got up enough nerves to leave once he broke my jaw extracted a tooth due to the bunt trauma. All this in front of my children. Through hours of councelling and prayer and surrounding myself and my kids around positive people we were starting to piece our lives back together. Then i got hit with another right hook when I got laid off from my job. I had only been on the job for 8 months so my unemployment was little of nothing. I’ve been laid off since january. I’m so behind on bills, i cry myself to sleep. Im more than robbing peter to pay paul. I have been borrowing money from check cashing places in order to maintain until the next little unemployment check. I know $10,000 isn’t going to make me rich, but I just want to be out of everyones pocket and finally catch up on my bills. I want to sleep at night. I have 2 wonderful children that continue to make nothing but A’s and B’s. We dont have much and they don’t complain too much. I would take that money and pay off a bulk of my bills, get my car some new tires, help one of my friends that is struggling like me and buy my kids some clothes that other kids wont laugh at. I’m sure you will read other stories that you feel like may be more worthy than me, but i’m not looking for a pitty party by no means. I JUST NEED SOME HELP. My children are 10,5,and 3. right now I’am stuggling just like everyone else.Im working 5 days a week in a nursing home.I go to school 3 nights a week to persue a career in nursing.My Transmission just went in my car.I’m barely making ends meet and Two out of three of my childrens birthdays are a week before christmas.on top of raising my children alone I’am also supporting my fiance who has been locked up for the past 4 years.I need a little assistance lol!!I f i was to win this contest I could pay some of the bills iam backed up on and by a little something for me to gat back and fourth to work and school for my children and I.Thanks 50 and i pray that you continue to be successful in all that you do keep up the good work. I am so happy that 50 decided to do this. I’m only 18 and I do have a 8 month old son. This is actually my second child but I lost my daughter last year in March. It’s so hard raising a child at such a young age while still going to school.But I believe with the help of God that I can and will do anything that I set my mind to. I’m a senior this year and have a grade point average of 3.5. I made the honor roll(something I have not done since elementary school) but my son is my motivation to keep going on and staying strong. I do believe that I will graduate and go off to college. Many people look at young teen mothers as a bad thing, but I may admit it’s not all that good from diapers to formula to clothes and shoes, but I do know if not for my son there’s no telling what I’ll be doing. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OR 18YR OLD TWINS, A BOY AND A GIRL, FOR YEARS I HAVE SUFFERED RAISING THEM ALONE….THEIR FATHER WAS TRAGICALLY KILLED ON A MOTORCYCLE WHEN THEY WERE ONLY 11YRS OLD. THE KICK TO THIS IS I ALSO LOST MY MOTHER AT A YOUNG AGE ON THE SAME DAY THEIR FATHER PASSED AUGUST 27TH, FIFTEEN YEARS APART MY MOM PASSED IN 1987 AND THEIR DAD IN 2002… I THINK I DESERVE YOUR VERY SPECIAL AWARD, BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN HARD CHRISTMAS AFTER CHRISTMAS, BIRTHDAY AFTER BIRTHDAY, AND EVERY HOLIDAY ITS KINDA SADDENED AROUND THE HOUSE WITHOUT LOVED ONES FOR THE YOUNG ADULTS THAT I HAVE RAISED, I WATCH MY SON WHO WATCHES OTHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY SPEND TIME WITH THEIR FATHER’S AND YOU CAN TELL THE PAIN HAS NEVER GONE AWAY, THE SAME THING WITH MY DAUGHTER, HOWEVER I HAVE MANAGED TO RAISE THE TO BE RESPONSIBLE YOUNG ADULTS TO BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS NO MATTER HOW PEOPLE MAY TREAT THEM OR SPEAKE AGAINST THEM, LOVE IS A WONDERFUL MEDICINE FOR THE SOUL….OVER THE YEARS OF PAIN, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GIVE THEM THE CHRISTMASES THEY’VE WANTED AND I HAVE ALWAYS FELT SO BAD….NOW THAT THEIR OLDER AND UNDERSTAND WHAT I’VE GONE THROUGH TO SACRAFICE, I WANT TO SUPRISE THEM WITH SOMETHING SPECIAL, I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT WILL BE, BUT I PROMISE I’LL FIGURE IT OUT IF YOU WERE TO BLESS ME WITH YOUR WONDERFUL SUPPORT….THANKS 50 OH, AND I CALL MYSELF 150, BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO GO UP AND ABOVE MY MEANS FOR MY CHILDREN 150%….LOL THANKS IN ADVACE IF I AM CHOOSEN.
Finally somebody out there who really cares for us single moms.I’m a 35 year old single mom with two teenagers.My daughter is 17 years old and she is about to graduate next year.My son is 13 years old and is in the honor roll.My children worked so hard in school after all they been through. I had early stages of cervical cancer.I had too take some time off work to heal from two major surgeries.Right now I’m in remission and working 8-5 or even 8-7 to put food on the table.I’m making it day by day thanking god for giving us food to eat,and a roof over our heads.I know we are blessed.After working 9-11 hours a day I come straight home after work to help my kids with their homework,cook a hot meal for them,and get them ready for the next day.I may not have fashionable clothes or shoes,but I want the best for my kids.We went through our tears and struggles,but I know if we made this far we can make it anywhere.We live in a small cramped up two bedroom apartment.I may have to sleep on the sofa,but I don’t care as long as my kids have beds to sleep in.So,thank you 50 Cent for caring for us single moms.At least somebody out there understands what we go through.God Bless!
Hi I am happy to know that 5o cent is doing this for all the single baby mothers because you can’t express what single parents go througth.I have been going through it with my children father which it doesn’t make since. My children would love to known I joint the contest because they deserve better. They have suffer this year seeing mommy struggling to maintence. My child deserve a break for all this burden this year its been a lot for them.I never won anything in my life,but I hope we win this one because lord know we need it.
Im so happy that 50 decided to do something so special for single moms. I am 35 yrs. old and have a son thats 18 and a daughter thats 13. I am not only single but proud that I have a son that is a young black male that has beat most odds.He graduated from high school without becoming a teen parent and also without a criminal record. I am very proud of myself for accomplishing that much on my own especially growing up in the hood without a father myself.Now I pray that I can do the same with my daughter.People say young men need their dads in their lifes but girls do to.I never asked my kids father for one thing.I just always felt like I was mama and no one was going to keep my kids from having what they may have needed because thats what mama’s do.I would love to win because my son wants to attend college and that money would really help me buy him a car something im not able to do right now.Because of me working and soon attending school myself.I would also love to take my kids on a family trip something we were never able to do because I myself have been in school for the last four years of my kids young lifes.If I don’t win I guess I can say that I am already a winner so far.
